Declaration

The Welsh Declaration for Mental Health and Well-being serves as one of the foundation stones of our organisation and primary care mental health services in Wales.

This is because Wales has eight out of the 10 poorest and most deprived health areas in the UK and some of the poorest health in Europe.

The connection between poor physical and poor mental health cannot be ignored with mental health a major economic issue across our nation.

As a result, Wales requires a primary care mental health and wellbeing strategy if it is to achieve its aim of improving the nation's health and social care in the 21st Century.

This is what the Declaration provides and if you want a full outline of its background, principles and aims please visit our The Welsh Declaration for Mental Health and Well-being or Datganiad Cymru ar gyfer Iechyd a Lles Meddwll pages.

You can sign up to the Declaration's aims via our website by filling in either our Rhowch Eich Enw i Lawr Ar Gyfer or Sign Up To The Declaration online forms.

Alternatively, if you want to extend your commitment beyond signing up, you can make a simple pledge to take action in support of the Declaration's aims by filling in either our Sut Rwy'n Addo Gweitheredu or My Pledge To Take Action online forms.

For further information about the Declaration, signing up to it or making a pledge please contact us via email at wamhinpc@rcgp.org.uk or on 029 2050 4604.
